THE ART OF SEEING

THE ART OF SEEING

July 15 - December 5, 2026

CVPA Dean’s Suite

Curated By Steven Luu

THE ART OF SEEING exhibition features students from Professor Chawky Frenn’s Painting II and Advanced Painting classes. Through the study of the human figure, color, light, and tone, they demonstrate that painting begins with learning to truly see. These large-scale works extend beyond technical skill, inviting viewers into a deeper conversation about the content of their artwork, their experience of the world, and their relationship to their viewer. Through thoughtful experimentation, and sustained practice, these paintings demonstrate how careful observation transforms into visual expression.

“Artists must slow down in order to truly see.”

- CVPA Dean Rick Davis
