ARTIST STATEMENT: My current work aims to focus on the topic of disease, more specifically invisible illnesses, and the way I continue to try to live with one. I decided use oil paint to illustrate that sickness in the essence of the blobs. They become a gross thing that floats all around me because it is a part of me that will not go away any time soon. They have different shapes and sizes since this disease affects me in different ways, but it is always there.
