Join us in an evening of performance and conversation.
Anthony Le will provide a 10 min commissioned performance art piece that will explore the impact of war and how we live on by accepting the past, rejecting singular narratives and trying better in the future, even joyfully. I will share reflections of my Vietnamese American journey through the use of poetry, photos and videos from my family archive and of my Vietnamese American art collective Vagabond. Following GMU Professor, Dr. Vanessa Schulman will share histories of 20th century American fiber arts as they intersected with activism, protest, and/or healing.
Anthony Le is a Washington, D.C.-based interdisciplinary artist and identifies as Vietnamese, American and Queer. Le works across drag, performance, movement, video, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and curation, creating work about transformation.
