Boundless
Acrylic on canvas, 2018
5’ x 12’

A line of dusty debris creates a loose threshold below an inscribed black and white painting composed of etched lines. Revealed beneath the expanse of black paint are measured vertical and horizontal lines of a grid, roughly scraped lines that rhythmically grow across the canvas, and glyphs that float in swarms and plant themselves between the small black spaces of the canvas.  Not static, but caught in time to imply a minefield of meaning through the navigation of the glyphs.

Nearly all spaces seem temporary to me,

I try to make them feel like mine sometimes,

If they mean something.
