ART AS RESEARCH

This exhibition examines recent experiments in creative research viewed through artwork by 24 contemporary US artists-- all participants in Provisions Library's Research Residency Program. Each artist used Washington DC as a platform for socially engaged research using archives, museums, local communities and policy think advocacy organizations. Exhibition themes range from outer space exploration to neighborhood mapping, from urbanism to intellectual property and from nationality to surveillance.
