ARTIST STATEMENT: Complete solace is when I witness the blue hour morning light peeking through the blinds. All at once Blue, like a stream of water, filling up my small room. It’s a soft greeting and it’s comforting. It gives me a feeling of solitude and calms my beating heart. It is as if this Blue is coming into my window to let me know that I will be alright and it's ok to just breathe, for a moment. Of course, like everything in life, all things come to an end and the blue hour lasts about 30 minutes or less. I capture that essence of comfort in my work.

My work is a vision of an overflowing window with the blue hour sky pouring in. It feels like someone has hit pause to watch the cascading blue fall through. I built a window frame to have the fabric pour through where it hangs on the wall. Under the frame consists of blue fabrics of all kinds, with bits of yellows to resemble the night sky. This follows down with a pattern to the opening of the window where strips of fabric fall straight down hitting the floor with a need to fill an empty space.
